harsh critic here

Jesse, man.

you're good, i've heard your stuff. you use a lot of compression faders, dont you....it's fine though. it's your style. i just think that your songs don't have much vibe. what you need to do is turn up those drums in the background and add a growly bassline. i'm serious, this song especially would be so much better if you tried that. i know it soulds like you have a full orchestra here, but to me it's incomplete. bassline + drums ^up^ = better song.

always amazing leads/drums. just take my advice, but remember, it's your song. 5'd.

all the instruments work

trust me, i'm a harshass critic. even though you didn't use many different leads, you still got the 'personality' of the song across. the name helps too...gives you something to visualize. the synth at 1:51 is well-made, if it's not a preset.

also, nice hi-hat! most people screw those up

cycerin responds:

Nice to see some input. :) The synth there is just a 3xosc sine with some portamento. And man. I spent so much time on those hihats. It's a headache to get a good percussion flow when you use 4-4 beat unless you want to settle for the house cliche.

critique

overused the synth blast at the beginning, good chord progression, work on your mastering

nice arps. if you made those, good job

not my taste, but congratulations

Fuel2Fire responds:

wow... was made 5 years ago and still getting listened to? Everything I have on here is so newb heh. Should busmit something new that isn't terrible :)

But thanks for the review... oh and this stuff is edited/mixed by me from a Jason C pattern for "NewStuff"

not my style

percussion was good, although sometimes the synths were a little bit harsh in my opinion

maybe EQ it down and raise the volume

well made

I has Recon armer.
